He was Wooing Her...

Being home and seeing her things has not been as hard as we anticipated.

Knowing He has given her a much better place
~ her room and things scattered about are just things.

Things she no longer needs.

Today we started sifting through her things.

Found this just a little bit ago.

Notice the date.
She did this 4 months before she left for Home.

She had colored the outside of the book
and written this on the inner cover.

Funny though,
the rest of the book was left blank.  ;)

New beginning for our baby byrd....

This is true hope.
Hope that does not disappoint.

HOPE does not put us to shame,
because God’s love
has been poured into our hearts
through the Holy Spirit
who has been given to us.

Romans 5:5

Found this, too.

Celebration of Lydia's Life ~ Recap

We just got back to VA and have settled back in the nest.  The Lord carried us through these past few days and has proven to be faithful yet again.  So thankful for all the hugs and words of love expressed by those sweet folks who were a part of Lydia's Homegoing Celebration.  For those of you who were unable to be there I've shared the links below to give you a glimpse of the service.

Celebration of Lydia's Life ~ Arrangements

This is Kim Voiles in VA updating for Stacey ...

A celebration of Lydia's life will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Unity Free Will Baptist Church in Greenville, NC. A graveside service will follow at Pinewood Memorial Park. Thankful for those who are grieving with us and thankful that Lydia is Home.

Our friends here in VA are putting together a book of special memories for Willie, Stacey & the
boys ... notes, scripture, personal memories and pictures. Having these remembrances of precious Lydia and the love that so many have for her will be a continued source of joy in the days to come. If you have shared in Lydia's life and would like to share your heart with the Byrds please bring these things with you to the service on Friday.

We will have a basket to collect the items to be later placed in a scrapbook once we return home. If you have artwork or items that Lydia created, it would be such a sweet blessing if there was a photograph of those things to place in the book as well. Pictures of Lydia with friends and loved ones will be the most precious gifts of all.

Your prayers and love for the Byrd family are a gift and a testimony to the many lives that have been impacted by their unwavering faith and love for our Lord. They take great comfort in those prayers.

"I'll Fly Away", says the little byrdie.

Lydia has always been an early byrd. She left for Home early this morning. She was escorted into the presence of her Savior.

Willie and I were by her bedside as she breathed her last breath.

About an hour after her passing I went back into her room. There was the sweetest smile on her face! Yet another precious gift from Him.

The Waiting Room

Spent much time in the waiting room today ...
                                            her sweet, yellow room.

Waiting for her to be delivered.

[And indeed] the Lord will certainly deliver and draw me to Himself from every assault of evil. He will preserve and bring me safe unto His heavenly kingdom. To Him be the glory forever and ever. Amen (so be it).

2 Timothy 4: 18

Today is very different from yesterday, maybe not so much bad, but different. She hasn't fully woken up since she went to sleep last night.

She is tired ~ it's time to rest.

Her room is dimly lit with her favorite scent ("Flirtatious") enveloping her sweet space while her CD player reverberates sleepy sounds.

She is resting and shows no signs of discomfort.

Unexplainable peace fills our hearts and this home.

He continues to be our anchor in the storm.

Byrd's Eye View

Yesterday was not the best of days.

Today was much better.

This brain tumor deal is like a roller coaster ride of emotions.

I've learned not to look too far ahead and to take each day as it comes.

Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
Matthew 6:34

This is the day that the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:24

Here's a brief gander of her day...

                                           or shall I say,

a Byrd's eye view...
