More Changes

I woke up to the sound of someone coughing....it was Lydia in the living room.  She had a restless night's sleep during the night and now had nausea.  I could tell this day would be a hard day.  She also seemed weaker and more wobbly. I called Willie and let him know of the changes.  We quickly e-mailed Dr. Gold to report Lydia's condition.  He promptly contacted us and maintained a close eye (from 2.5 hours away) the remainder of the day.

Lydia had seemed unaware about these recent changes, but today she noticed, and wanted to talk about it.  It was a hard conversation, but one that must be had.

We spent most of the day talking, resting, praying, memorizing scripture, doing art work, and shopping on-line.

The most frustrating thing for her at this time is her inability to walk by herself.  She's hoping her legs will be working better in the morning.  I'm praying for just that to happen.

She had her first dose of Decadron tonight at 9pm.  Decadron is given to help alleviate her symptoms.  We are all nervous about this drug ~ about 2 years ago when she was on it she had horrible side effects that lingered way too long.  Hoping this time won't be as bad.

So, now's the time when life gets hard and we're given the opportunity to put flesh and bones on the word FAITH.
Now's the time to stay focused on Him.
Now's the time that hurts so badly, but trust Him even more.

Fear not, for I am with you;
be not dismayed, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Isaiah 41:10

  3. "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear.... Be still and know that I am God." Psalm 46
    Can't help but to have tears in my eyes today as I think about what you all must be going through. We weep with those we love who weep and rejoice when they rejoice. I look forward to the rejoicing that is to come. Sending love,hugs and prayers your way!

  4. Byrd family, Trent Griffin brought the needs of your family before our moms group almost two years ago. For some reason, Lydia's story and your family's journey has tied itself to my heart. Please know, although we are strangers, my heart aches with yours and as the Lord brings you to mind I am ushering you into His presence. Abba, hold this family in the palm of your mighty hands. Consume them with your grace and peace. We beg you to completely heal Lydia this side of Heaven and the best we know how, we trust you with your plans and purposes. Remind this family repeatedly how much they are loved and supported. We love you Jesus...above everything else. In your name I pray, Amen
