10-21-11

I've been reading several books on my Kindle, mostly during the night.  On a side note ~ my Kindle ranks high as one of my all-time favorite Christmas presents.  I love that little nightlight thingy on the cover~ it's great for sneaking peeks at Lydia without turning on the lamp.  One book I crack open often is  "Lord, Give Me A Heart for You" by Kay Arthur.  Several nuggets speak straight through to my momma-heart....

"God watched His Son die the death of all deaths - have you lost a child to death?  Or perhaps you're losing a child to death even now.  God understands."

"Nothing, Beloved - absolutely nothing - brings greater peace in the midst of suffering than to know that you're where God would have you to be."

"Just to know that you're in His will brings peace - and the ability to continue to do what He has called you to do.  Without that knowledge there's either a confusion that can immobilize you or a harried scurrying about as you try to do more than God ever intended for you to do.  There is nothing more valuable than knowing, "This is the way, walk in it."  It gives you the strength and confidence to settle in and persevere."

"He comforts us in "all" our affliction.  And the more the intense the suffering, the more abundant the comfort.  In other words, He assures us, precious one, that we can never "out-suffer" His comfort."

Thankful for God's Word ~ it is so, so precious to me.
Also, thankful for supplemental literature that sheds light on His truths.
And also thankful for my Kindle light-thingy shedding light on words and my girl. : )

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses,
let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely,
and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us
looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith,
who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross,
despising the shame,
and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

Hebrews 12:1-2

It's been a great day!
She's had NO PAIN!
She had a fabulous night's sleep and swallowing is improving!

Grandma and Papa Byrd were able to visit and Nonnie and Aunt Shelly have been here keeping the nest in perfect working order.

We were able to take her out shopping this afternoon.  As we were driving to PB Kids ~her favorite store~ she says to me, "Momma, I think we should pick up the boys something".♥

The boys and Zoe are back in the nest per her request.

Feels good to all be together again.

Thankful for THIS day!

Reunited and it feels so good!

Enjoying time with Grandma and Papa Byrd

Nonnie nourishing Sam

Foot massage from Aunt Shelly

They missed each other.

Nothing better than snuggling up together for a nap

Willie ~ angry because his angry birds game is interrupted .
(He's not gonna be happy about me posting this either.)

NOTE TO SELF:  Find really flattering make-up picture to post of my main squeeze.

  1. Stacey, I have been following your blog since your trip to NC last month and I saw a link on Kim Voiles' facebook. Please know that the faith of you, your husband, and Lydia have just touched me beyond words. I believe that your testimony is reaching beyond what you will ever see here on earth. Many who you've never met are praying for you. Thank you for sharing your heart with so many. Praying for you daily, Tracy Francis

  3. Stacey,
These pictures are absolutely precious. I'm continuing to pray daily. As I drive up and down Hull Street, I often pray Ephesians 3:14-21.
Love to you all in our Lord!

  4. Stacey,
I'm a friend of Dana Lovett. I lost my daught Lindsay on 7-9-08. Her birthday was 11-2-00. I am so amazed at how much she and Lydia look alike. They could pass as sisters.I would like so much to meet you, Willie and especially Lydia! She is such an extraordinary little girl. I read your blog everyday and think you are doing such an awsome job! You are an amazing writer. We can all see GOD working through every one of you! I will be in Richmond tomorrow afternoon. If there is anything I can ever do for any of you, please let me know!
Until then,I'm praying that Lindsay will be an angel for your angel and bring her all of GOD's peace and comfort!
    Thinking of you all,

  5. God creates special people to fill this crazy world, who can be an inspiration to others. Without a shadow of a doubt you are one of those people, I count it a blessing to know you.

  7. I am so sorry for your loss. We have lost way too many children to cancer. We are thinking of your family during this difficult time. She is with Lord now and with so many young heroes who have gone before her.
    Blessings Always,
