This is Kim Voiles in VA updating for Stacey ...
A celebration of Lydia's life will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Unity Free Will Baptist Church in Greenville, NC. A graveside service will follow at Pinewood Memorial Park. Thankful for those who are grieving with us and thankful that Lydia is Home.
Our friends here in VA are putting together a book of special memories for Willie, Stacey & the boys ... notes, scripture, personal memories and pictures. Having these remembrances of precious Lydia and the love that so many have for her will be a continued source of joy in the days to come. If you have shared in Lydia's life and would like to share your heart with the Byrds please bring these things with you to the service on Friday.
We will have a basket to collect the items to be later placed in a scrapbook once we return home. If you have artwork or items that Lydia created, it would be such a sweet blessing if there was a photograph of those things to place in the book as well. Pictures of Lydia with friends and loved ones will be the most precious gifts of all.
Your prayers and love for the Byrd family are a gift and a testimony to the many lives that have been impacted by their unwavering faith and love for our Lord. They take great comfort in those prayers.

I have never met you. I heard about Lydia through a friend. I have been reading your beautiful words and praying for your precious family. One thing that has touched me is the sparkle in Lydia's eyes in all the photos of her. I heard a song yesterday for the first time. My heart jumped in my chest as I listened. I thought of you.......of Lydia. The song is called "Souvenirs" by the band Switchfoot on their new cd. So, I send the words to this song to you and your family thought and prayer. I hope someday you hear it. "Heres to your bright eyes (Lydia) shining like fireflies"

My family is also a Byrd and I was incredibly moved by this blog. I cant tell you how inspring Lydia and your family are to others. I sat there balling reading this blog, and prayed. "God give me a heart like this". One that never looses sight of his faithfulness. I am praying for strength and peace for your family. I am so sorry for your loss. Amy, Raleigh, NC

I know Lydia was a great blessing to you, but please know, that you were just as great a blessing to her, as well as to all who read your words.
