The Nomads are Packing Up Again

Spent the day inside.  The boys entertained themselves with imaginary play while Lydia and I did some packing and organizing.

We will be moving soon to another apartment just a few buildings over that better suits our family.  The new place has an open layout and is more private with no one above or below us.  It is also closer to the big rock that the kids love!  We've got a little over 3 weeks before it will be ready, so we started the packing process today.  Lydia looks forward to having a new room and decorating it.

With all of our moves lately (3 moves in less than 3 years with 3 kids) it reminds me how this earth is just a temporary dwelling and that our forever home is being prepared for us.

In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.
John 14:2-3

Something very comforting
in knowing that if she departs to our forever home before I do
He promised that He has prepared a special place for His child.

Another comforting thought for me is this...
You have made my days a few handbreadths, and my lifetime is as nothing before you. Surely all mankind stands as a mere breath!
Psalm 39:5

This is all so temporary and this life is nothing compared to eternity!   I so wish I could pan out from our circumstances at this time to see His story.  His perspective.    Knowing He has written every day before time even began and that NOTHING takes Him by surprise brings indescribable peace to my soul.  Knowing He has purpose in all of this hard stuff gives me strength.  When I take my eyes off of Jesus I get anxious and fearful.   When I mediate on His promises I am quieted by His love.

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
Romans 8:18

  1. I love when you talk about "panning out". It is such an invaluable reminder of how small we are in the scheme of His plan. We are gonna make that move easy-peasy! I am so glad for the sweet benefits that this move will bring to your family :) Love ya'll!
